The castle was first mentioned in a 9th century document. There are the remains of the main tower, the moats and the exterior wall. It is located in a woody and quiet area not far from the town of Castellterçol. Within the premises of the castle, a farmhouse was built during the 16th century. The lodging for rent is an independent part of it and the farmers occupy another part of the building with a separate entrance. Public swimming pool.

Castellterçol is very well located. You can take one-day trips to Barcelona (50km), the Pyrenees, Costa Brava, Montserrat, Vic, Ripoll, etc. If you want to visit places nearby, there is the Monastery of L´´Estany, the town of Moià and the villages and castles of Granera and Castellcir. There are many possibilities of walking excursions, mountain bicycling or horseback riding around Castellterçol. Plenty of woods and farmhouses around. Near by the centre of the village there is a swimming pool and a golf course.
