The International Festival of Documentary Films DocsBarcelona is on its 17th edition and it’s celebrated from 25th to 31nd May.

450 professionals from 34 countries will enjoy the festival. For some days, Barcelona will become the capital of the documentary cinema. In this edition, more than 40 films will be shown in 5 cinemas of the Catalan capital. In addition, there will be many parallel activities.

 

The Contemporary Culture Centre of Barcelona (CCCB) will focus the main part of the films of DocsBarcelona, but there will be other places that will host screenings and activities: the cinemas Multicines Aribau, the Auditorium of la Pedrera and the Arts Santa Mònica.

 

The festival will start the 27th May with the documentary The Falciani's List by the director Ben Lewis, that arrives in the debate on the impunity of tax fraud.

 

El DocsBarcelona también cuenta con la sección Docs&Teens dedicada a los niños y jóvenes de 12 a 16 años. Más de 700 estudiantes se acostarán al cine documental para descubrir otras realidades.

The DocsBarcelona also has the Docs & Teens section dedicated to children and young people aged 12 to 16 years. Over 700 students will approach to documentary film to explore other realities.

 

Finally, DocsBarcelona will keep offering the Pitching Forums, which are one of the biggest and most prestigious markets of financing and promotion for documentary industry in the world. The professionals of the sector will be able to enjoy with this and other activities, like Workshops, an international conference about interactive documentary or private presentations of documentaries to broadcasters, distributors and sales agents from around the world.
